July 30th, 2010 | Global TimesSince the announcement of a high-speed rail project by the Brazilian government, many countries have raised eyebrows on its bidding and China couldn’t be left aside in the party.
The Ministry of Railways of the People’s Republic of China (MOR) announced it will join hands with China Railway Construction (CRCC) , one of the biggest railway construction enterprises in China, to bid for Brazil high-speed rail project, according to Huang Heping, Chairman of International Cooperation Department of China Ministry of Railways Wednesday.
The Brazil Government made public its tender document for Brazil high-speed rail project 10 days ago and the closing date is December, 2010.
Because the operation model of Brazil high-speed rail project will differ from that of other countries, the Chinese side would further discuss the cooperation program and related operation policies put forward by its (Brazil) government, according to Lijun, director of the Transportation Bureau of MOR Wednesday.
He also mentioned that there will be no problems on technical aspects, and China has advantages on time and cost over its counterparts. MOR of China has set up a coordinating team for the Sino-Brazil overseas cooperation to organize railway-engineering contracts for Chinese enterprises.
