First think tank on China-Arab economic ties founded
April 09th, 2011 | People's DailyThe first think tank on China-Arab economic and trade relations was founded here on Friday, aiming to promote the development of China-Arab economic cooperation.
Sponsored by the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), the Center for China-Arab Economic and Trade Relations integrates academic resources on the research of China-Arab economic and trade cooperation.
China-Arab economic and trade ties have been developing rapidly in recent years. According to official statistics, bilateral trade volume has grown from 36.4 billion U.S. dollars in 2004 to 145.4 billion dollars in 2010.
Compared with the booming bilateral cooperation, China’s academic study on China-Arab economic and trade ties is inadequate, UIBE president Shi Jianjun said, adding that the think tank will focus on the research in this field.
